The Village Roots Homeschool Co-op is made up of families in and around greater Cincinnati area looking for an encouraging, judgment-free, flexible, social co-op with an educational twist. We are family/child led, which means we strive to empower our children to play a large role in determining the “classes” that are offered throughout the year. All ages are welcome and we work hard to help each other as we juggle the balance of having kids in different stages of growth and development.
Co-op families are committed to seeing our co-op thrive, and help it to be the success it is by being actively involved. We are made up of families diverse in race, religion, sexual orientation, and economic status with various learning and teaching styles, but see our co-op as a relaxed homeschool environment. We are a judgment-free zone, and understand that we are all doing the best we can with the tools we have. We come together to build each other up, provide support, and encourage our children, and each other as we learn to grow together.
This co-op is rooted in love, respect, and building an open educational trust for its families. Being “kid led“ inspires children to take a bit of control and what they want to learn and do while building relationships with peers of all ages. We do this as a secular co-op. This means embracing any and all families without discrimination. We want a safe place for our families to learn, grow, love, and thrive.
Statement of inclusion:
Village Roots Homeschool Co-op acknowledges and honors the fundamental values and dignity of all individuals. We pledge ourselves to creating and maintaining an environment that is a safe and inclusive place for our children to grow and be themselves.
By providing equity within our culture we are giving wings to each persons development and in turn providing a place for each child to thrive.
We are inclusive. We celebrate multiple approaches and points of view. We’re building a culture where differences are valued with a holistic approach. We’re always growing our network of people, programs, and school tools – diversity and inclusion are part of our DNA. Together, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our co-op families. We are passionate about creating an inclusive space that promotes and values diversity.
Organizations that are diverse in age, gender identity, race, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, ethnicity, and perspective are proven to be better organizations altogether. We continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports, and celebrates the diverse voices of our co-op families.
We are passionate about creating an inclusive space that promotes and values diversity. Importantly, creating an environment where everyone, from any background, can do their best work is the right thing to do. We strive to build and nurture a culture where inclusiveness is a reflex, not an initiative.
